Ellie Gibson

Ellie Gibson is an award-winning journalist, presenter, and stand-up comedian. She appears as the games expert in hit Dave show Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit, and hosts the spin-off, Go 8 Bit DLC.

Ellie is also one-half of comedy double act Scummy Mummies. Together with fellow mum Helen Thorn, she co-hosts the UK’s number one parenting podcast, which has now topped 1 million downloads. They perform live comedy shows to sold-out audiences around the country and their first book, Scummy Mummies, was published in March 2017.

Television appearances have included The Apprentice: You’re HiredGood Morning Britain, Lorraine, Victoria Derbyshire, The Wright Stuff, and Charlie Brooker’s How Video Games Changed the World. Ellie hosted BBC Technology series Tech Know and presented Radio 4 documentary Virtually Famous. She has regularly appeared on Woman’s Hour and Broadcasting House, along with Radio 5 Live and BBC London.

Ellie has written about games, parenting, and other subjects for publications including The Guardian, The Telegraph, Metro, Vice, Eurogamer, and Guinness World Records. Corporate work includes hosting events for BAFTA Games, Sony PlayStation, English Heritage, and Mumsnet.
